Every match you play tells a story. Badges make sure no milestone goes unnoticed.
You just won your fifth match in a row. Your phone buzzes. Particles burst across your screen. A flash of silver. You've just earned Hot Streak, and the badge's detail sheet shows you exactly how few players hold it.
That moment isn't random. It's the PADLR. badge system doing what it was designed to do: recognising the things that matter in your padel and making sure you feel every single one of them.
Most padel apps track your matches. PADLR. celebrates them.
What are PADLR. badges?
Badges unlock automatically as you play. You don't need to opt in, activate a challenge, or check a box. PADLR.'s backend checks your results, your milestones, and your progress every time a match is confirmed. When you hit a threshold, whether that's your first ever match or your hundredth, the system recognises it and awards you a badge.
There are 50 badges in total. Every badge has a name, a description, an icon, and a rarity tier. Some are within reach from your first week. Some are genuinely hard. A few are the kind of thing you'll see on someone's profile and think, how did they get that?
That's the point. Badges aren't participation trophies. They're proof of what you've done on court.
The four rarity tiers
Not all badges are created equal. PADLR. uses four tiers (Bronze, Silver, Gold and Platinum) to distinguish between everyday milestones and the truly hard ones. Each badge's tier is fixed, and each tier has its own coloured ring, so you can tell at a glance how hard a badge was to earn.
Bronze
These are your entry points. Playing your first match, winning your first competitive match, stringing together your first three wins in a row, following your first five players. Bronze badges are designed to welcome you into the system and reward your earliest steps. They're the foundation.
Silver
A step up. Silver badges require consistency and repetition. Think 25 confirmed matches, reaching a 3.0 rating, a five-match win streak, or coming back to win after losing the first set. These are the badges that start to separate the casual players from the committed ones.
Gold
Now things get interesting. Gold badges demand sustained effort. A hundred matches, a ten-match win streak, beating opponents rated a full point above you, or playing in three different cities. When you see a gold badge on someone's profile, you know they've put in serious court time.
Platinum
The rarest of the rare. Platinum badges represent the peak of what's possible on PADLR.: 200 matches, a 6.0 rating, fifteen wins in a row, or winning a match without dropping a single game. Only a small fraction of players will ever earn them, and they carry a visual weight to match. If you see a Platinum badge on someone's profile, respect it.
Badge categories
Badges span five categories: Milestone, Rating, Streak, Social and Discovery. Each one covers a different side of your padel life. Here's a taste of what's out there.
Milestone
These track the big numbers. Your first match. Your fifth. Your twenty-fifth. Your hundredth, which is Centurion. Milestones also cover things like ten matches with the same partner or ten weekend matches. They're the backbone of the badge system: simple, satisfying markers of how far you've come. The further you go, the higher the tier.
Rating
Rating badges recognise when you break through to a new level on the 0–7 scale. Reaching 3.0 earns you Rising Star, and there are badges at 2.0, 4.0, 5.0 and 6.0 too. Climbing to a new level is a real moment, and PADLR. treats it like one. There are also badges for your first competitive win (First Blood), for upsets against higher-rated teams, and for gaining a full point in a single month.
Streak
Streak badges reward winning runs and big moments. Three wins in a row, then five (Hot Streak), ten (Unstoppable) and fifteen. Stringing together five consecutive victories feels different from winning five matches spread across a month, and the badge system reflects that. You'll also find badges for coming back after losing the first set, winning tie-break sets, and ending a losing run.
Social and Discovery
Social badges reward the community side of padel: following players, building a following, commenting and reacting in the feed, partnering someone rated lower than you and winning, or playing with twenty different partners. Discovery badges push you to play differently: early mornings, late nights, both sides of the court, new venues and new cities. Play in three different cities and you've earned Globe Trotter.
What happens when you earn a badge
This is where PADLR. goes beyond a simple notification.
When you unlock a badge, you get a full-screen celebration, whether you've just opened the app or you're mid-scroll when a match result confirms. The badge appears centre-screen with its tier styling: bronze, silver, gold or platinum. Particle effects fill the screen. It's not subtle, and it's not meant to be. You earned something. The app makes sure you feel it.
The rarer the badge, the bigger the moment: more particles, a stronger glow, and it stays on screen longer. Earn several at once and PADLR. leads with the rarest, then shows the rest alongside it. Silver badges and above also send you a push notification.
Your badge showcase
Every badge you earn appears in your badge gallery on your profile. The gallery displays your badges in a grid, each one with a tier-coloured ring. Badges you haven't earned yet appear as locked, showing you exactly what the unlock criteria are so you always know what to chase next.
But the gallery isn't just for you. Other players can see it too.
Pick up to four badges to pin to your profile. People see them first when they open it, so choose the ones you're proudest of.
There's also a badge detail sheet for every badge in the system. Tap any badge, yours or someone else's, and you'll see the full description, the unlock criteria, and the percentage of players who currently hold it. That holders percentage is refreshed daily. As more players join PADLR., the percentages shift. A badge that 10% of players hold today might drop to 5% in six months.
Tips for badge hunting
If you want to fill out your badge gallery, here are some strategies that will accelerate your progress.
Play consistently. Many badges reward sustained activity rather than single bursts. The match-count milestones add up steadily if you keep logging every game you play.
Build streaks. Win streaks are some of the most satisfying badges to earn, and they require you to bring your best game to every match. Don't dodge tough opponents. Beating them is what makes a streak mean something. A five-match win streak against evenly-matched opponents is worth far more than beating the same beginner five times.
Challenge higher-rated players. Some of the most rewarding badges are tied to upsets and rating breakthroughs. Beat a team with a higher average rating, or opponents rated a full point above you, and the badge system knows it. Seek out matches that push you.
Mix it up. Don't just play the same slot at the same club with the same partner. Several badges reward variety: new partners, new venues, new cities, both sides of the court, and early or late sessions. Log your side and your venue each time so they count.
Check your locked badges. Your badge gallery shows you exactly what you haven't earned yet, including the criteria. Use it as a roadmap. If you're two matches away from a milestone badge, that's your motivation for the week.
Keep an eye on holders percentages. If a badge shows only 5% of players have it, you know you're chasing something special. The lower the percentage, the bigger the bragging rights.
What's coming next
The current badge system is just the beginning. We're exploring seasonal challenges: time-limited goals that refresh regularly. Think monthly challenges that push you to play a certain number of matches, hit a target win rate, or try something new.
We're also exploring weekly goals: shorter, more focused objectives that give you a reason to get on court every week and stay engaged with your padel progress.
If they land, your badge gallery will grow into a timeline of your padel, showing what you've achieved and when you achieved it.
Why badges matter
There are other padel apps with badge or reward systems. Some offer gamified progression. Some track milestones. But none of them integrate badges with a real rating system and a social feed the way PADLR. does.
When you earn a badge on PADLR., it's not an isolated event. Your badge showcase sits on the same profile as your rating, your match history, and your leaderboard position. Badges add context to your numbers. A 3.5 rating is impressive, but a 3.5 rating with a Gold win streak badge and Giant Killer tells a much richer story.
That's the difference. Badges on PADLR. aren't stickers. They're evidence.
