What is PADLR?
PADLR is a free iOS app for padel players. It tracks your skill rating, lets you log and confirm match results, discover nearby players, book matches, compete on leaderboards, earn badges, and connect with the padel community through a social feed.
How do I create an account?
Download PADLR from the App Store and sign up using Apple Sign-In, Google Sign-In, or your email address. After signing up, you'll complete a short onboarding flow where you set your skill level, location, playing style, and find friends.
I signed up with email. Do I need to verify it?
We send a verification email when you sign up. You can use the app immediately, but we recommend verifying your email to secure your account. A banner at the top of the app will remind you — tap "Resend" if you didn't receive the email. Once you click the link in the email, the banner will disappear automatically next time you open the app.
How do I log a match result?
Tap the centre "+" button on the tab bar, then select "Log Match". Fill in the form:
The match will appear in your history and the social feed once confirmed.
How does match confirmation work?
After you post a match, the opponent(s) receive a push notification asking them to confirm the result. They can either confirm (agree with the score) or dispute (challenge it). In doubles, any one opponent can confirm on behalf of the whole team. If no one responds, the match auto-confirms after the deadline.
What happens if I dispute a match?
If you believe the score was entered incorrectly, tap "Dispute" on the confirmation screen. The match poster will be notified and can correct the score or the match will remain in disputed status. Disputed matches do not affect ratings until resolved.
Can I delete a match I posted?
Yes. If the match is still pending (not yet confirmed), you can delete it from the match detail screen. Confirmed matches cannot be deleted as they have already been processed by the rating engine.
How do I book a match?
Tap the "+" button on the tab bar, then select "Book Match". Set the venue, date, time, format (singles/doubles), and match type (competitive/friendly). You can invite specific players or leave it open for others to join. Your booking will appear in the Matches tab.
How do I join someone else's booking?
Browse open bookings in the Discover tab or tap on a booking link shared by a friend. If there are available spots, you'll see a "Join" button. Once you join, you'll be added to the match and can see all the other participants.
Can I cancel or withdraw from a booking?
If you created the booking, you can cancel it entirely from the booking detail screen — all participants will be notified. If you joined someone else's booking, you can withdraw at any time before the match starts.
Can I add a booked match to my calendar?
Yes. On the booking detail screen, tap the calendar icon to add the match to your Apple Calendar with the venue, date, and time pre-filled.
How does the rating system work?
PADLR uses the Weng-Lin Bayesian algorithm (OpenSkill) to calculate your skill rating on a 0 to 7 scale. Your rating updates automatically after each confirmed competitive match. The system considers:
Why did my rating go down after a loss?
The rating system adjusts based on the expected outcome. Losing to a much lower-rated player costs more rating points than losing to a higher-rated player, because the system expected you to win. Similarly, a close score (7-6, 6-7, 7-5) will cost less than a blowout (1-6, 2-6).
Do friendly matches affect my rating?
No. Only competitive matches are processed by the rating engine. Friendly matches are logged for your history and appear in the feed, but they do not change your rating or anyone else's.
What is the confidence score?
Your confidence score (shown as a percentage on your profile) indicates how certain the system is about your rating. New players start with low confidence. The more matches you play, the higher your confidence goes, and the more stable your rating becomes. A player with 90% confidence has a very well-established rating.
What happens if someone manipulates match results?
PADLR has an automated manipulation detection system that flags suspicious patterns such as win-trading, repeated submissions between the same players, or statistically improbable results. Flagged matches may have their rating impact reversed, and repeat offenders may face account restrictions.
How do leaderboards work?
The Rankings tab shows player leaderboards across four scopes:
You can switch between three views: Most Active (matches played this month), Rating (skill level), and Movers (biggest monthly rating gains). Gender filters let you view All, Male, or Female rankings.
How often are leaderboards updated?
Leaderboards are recomputed every 15 minutes by a scheduled server process. After you confirm a match, your updated rating will appear in the leaderboards within the next cycle.
How do badges work?
PADLR awards badges for reaching milestones and accomplishments. There are 24 badges across five categories:
Badges are awarded automatically after each match. You'll receive a push notification and an in-app celebration when you unlock one. View all your badges in the Achievements tab on your profile.
What are badge rarities?
Each badge has a rarity tier — Common, Rare, or Legendary — based on the percentage of players who have unlocked it. As more players achieve a badge, its rarity may change. Legendary badges are held by less than 5% of players.
What appears in my feed?
Your feed shows match results posted by players you follow, along with badge unlocks and milestone achievements. You can react with emojis, leave comments, and tap into match details or player profiles.
How do I find and follow other players?
Go to the Discover tab to browse players near you, filtered by rating range. Tap on any player to view their profile, then tap "Follow". You can also find friends from your phone contacts during onboarding or by searching usernames.
How do game invites work?
From any player's profile or the Discover tab, tap "Invite to Play" to send a game invitation. The other player receives a notification and can accept or decline. Accepted invites create an upcoming match in both players' Matches tab.
How do I make my profile private?
Go to Settings > Privacy & Safety > Privacy, and toggle on "Private Profile". When private, only approved followers can see your matches, stats, and activity. New follow requests will need your approval before the person can see your content.
How do I block or report a user?
On any match card or player profile, tap the three-dot menu (···) and select "Report" or "Block". Blocked users cannot see your profile, matches, or send you follow requests. You can manage your blocked list in Settings > Privacy & Safety > Blocked Users.
Who can see my stats and rating?
By default, your stats and rating are visible to everyone. You can restrict this in Settings > Privacy & Safety > Who Can See My Stats, choosing from Everyone, Followers Only, or Only Me. Match rating visibility can be controlled separately.
What is PADLR Pro?
PADLR Pro is an optional subscription that unlocks premium features: advanced statistics and rating history charts, full match history access, data export, and an ad-free experience. Available as monthly or annual plans.
How do I restore a Pro subscription I already purchased?
Go to Settings > Subscription > Restore Purchases. This will restore any active subscription linked to your Apple ID, even if you reinstalled the app or switched devices.
How do I cancel my Pro subscription?
Subscriptions are managed through Apple. Go to your iPhone Settings > [Your Name] > Subscriptions > PADLR Pro, and tap Cancel. You'll keep Pro access until the end of the current billing period.
For refunds on in-app purchases, you'll need to request a refund directly from Apple. Go to reportaproblem.apple.com, sign in with your Apple ID, find the PADLR charge, and follow the instructions.
How do I change my password?
If you signed up with email, go to Settings > Account > Change Password. We'll send a password reset link to your email. If you signed in with Apple or Google, your password is managed by those providers.
How do I export my data?
Go to Settings > Data > Export My Data. This generates a file containing your match history that you can save or share. Data export is available to all users.
How do I delete my account?
Go to Settings, scroll to the bottom, and tap "Delete Account". Your account enters a 30-day grace period — if you sign back in during this time, the deletion is cancelled. After 30 days, all your data is permanently and irreversibly deleted, including your profile, match history, ratings, followers, and social content.
Do I need an internet connection?
PADLR works offline for viewing match history and your profile. Match posting, social interactions, and leaderboards require an internet connection. Changes made offline will sync automatically when you reconnect.
What languages does PADLR support?
The app is available in English, Spanish, Portuguese, French, German, Italian, and Swedish. You can change the language in Settings > Account > Language.
